Lumba Christian Ministries began back in 2003, a year after Ron and Bridget Wint returned from a life changing Mission Trip to Kasempa, Zambia. In
2002, they managed a food distribution program in response to a severe nationwide famine. Over 300 families were helped with food enough to last a month - which as it turned out was just the needed amount until the rains returned and food became available again.
Zambia is one of the poorest countries in the world. Most people try to survive on less than a dollar a day. Poverty is
especially high in rural areas, such as where our ministry is located. In Kasempa, most people are farmers living almost exclusively on what they grow. It's a hard life of much physical labor, poverty, disease, and despair.
But, it's also a place where God's love is changing lives through Lumba Christian Ministries.
We currently help about 30 orphaned and/or disabled children, staying with
Caregivers in local villages.
We also have a Children's Home with
round-the-clock care being given to a
number of orphans.
We have a School of Ministry, which is
helping train & equip local Pastors to better serve the Lord.
Beginning in 2009, we will be operating a Christian Radio station, the
first in this community
By God's grace we are a growing ministry that is both helping physical and spiritual needs.
Ron & Bridget (and their two children) are committed to serving in this community as long term missionaries.
